To be prettied up soon.
PERSONAThe summons for the entire series, and the main method of combat. In game they're called the "mask" one wears whenever they face hardships, and while it's similar to a Shadow, the psychological and canonical term for the deepest, darkest parts of a person's psyche, a Persona is born when those parts are accepted and tamed. Basically, a Persona user like Naoto can call out a part of her psyche to fight for her as she herself is incapable of casting spells or doing superhuman feats.
Naoto starts out with
Sukuna-
Hikona. In the game's maxed social link route, thanks to the efforts of Souji in helping her realize her true goals in life, Sukuna-Hikona changes into
Yamato Takeru, her ultimate Persona.
Sukuna-Hikona specializes in attacks that are Light and Dark elemental in nature, thus giving it, and Naoto by extension, resistance against these two elements as well. However, it has no elemental weaknesses in return. In addition, it's a special snowflake by virtue of being the only Persona (Yu's many Personas don't count) that can learn Almighty skills-- very poweful non-elemental attacks that ignore the elemental resistances of all enemies unless they actually have Almighty resistance (which only boss monsters have). Think of them as the nukes of the game (helps that the element is denoted with the nuclear symbol), except they don't take away your ability to have children.
